Regretfully, I am needing to sell or trade my 1939 Stinson HW-75, S/N: 7247. I just received my "special issuance" medical certificate after numerous useless tests and wrangling with the FAA for 5 months. Also, they have added another "laundry list" of 6 testing and reporting requirements when it comes up for renewal in November. After all of the troubles this past year, and knowing that if I ever get denied, I will not even get to fly "Sport Pilot", I have decided to sell or trade the Stinson and get an LSA category plane, preferable an Aeronca Chief or a Taylorcraft.
My plane was completely restored and the C85-12 engine major overhauled in 2003, and I have accumulated about 150 hours since then. This plane is as near perfect as I could ask for, and is possibly the most nearly original of that year model flying in the US. It still has the original N-number, the original Airworthiness Certificate, the original cowlings and the original instrument panel. I have added several updates for safety, such as Cleveland brakes, modern lap and shoulder belts, ELT, Comm antenna, etc. I have a very complete restoration history, together with a LOT of digital photos.
I hate to get rid of this plane, because I could not imagine a nicer flying small airplane, but I cannot afford to own two airplanes, and not be able to fly this one.
If anyone is interested in purchasing this plane or trading for a LSA, please contact me.
